What we do
Children's classes
Building Joy is "inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the atelier" approach, offering a creative space where children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and express themselves. Our home-based studio is a place of discovery, filled with art supplies and open-ended materials that invite imagination, problem-solving, and sensory learning.
Here, the focus isn’t on the final product, but on the process. This gives children the freedom to take their time, follow their instincts, ask questions, and share their ideas. The most meaningful learning often happens through hands-on exploration and "mess".

- Classes are generally 1 .5 hours long
- Ages 3 - 11
- Preferred drop and go
- Children must wear clothing that they can get messy in
- Street parking ( please be mindful of the neighbours )

Women’s Collaborative
Our women’s art gatherings are a sanctuary for connection, relaxation, and creative play. These sessions are designed to move away from the pressure of perfection and instead invite you to explore a range of materials in a calm, supportive space. It’s a chance to slow down, share stories, and rediscover the simple joy of creating alongside others. Whether you’re an experienced artist or haven’t picked up a paintbrush in years, this is about the experience of making art as a tool for wellbeing. Join one of our Joyful Collab sessions, where women come together to curiously create, connect, and unwind while working on a shared artwork. The heart of the gathering is about reconnecting to yourself but it is also about using your hands, stepping outside your comfort zone, building confidence, and creating meaningful connections within your community.
